Ohio counties ranked by health indicators

University of Wisconsin and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation analyzed all states to rank each county by various health indicators. Cuyahoga County rankings were reported.

Ohio county rankings (per RWJF-UWPHI)

Cuyahoga County was ranked 70th among the 88 Ohio counties in overall health using indicators studies by the University of Wisconsin and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Their report studied health indicators across all states and counties in order to determine the healthiest counties. Ratings for the county varied greatly; while ranked 5th for clinical care, it was ranked in the 70s for social & economic factors (no surprise), physical environment, and morbidity.

Suburban counties ranked highest

Delaware County, north of Columbus, was determined as having the healthiest community in terms of health outcomes, personal behaviors, access to care, education, safety, air quality and other related indicators.

Medina and Geauga scored highly in the rankings.

Counties in the appalachian section of the state faired the poorest.
