2000-2007 statistics of the number of people living with HIV (only) or AIDS in the Greater Cleveland Area, including all of Cuyahoga County.
The Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH) published the statistics reflecting the current burden of HIV/AIDS in the Greater Cleveland Area, including all of Cuyahoga County. These statistics reflect the number of people living with HIV only or AIDS, as of December 31st for the years citied.
Prevalence:
2000: 2,412 alive with 1,001 with HIV only and 1,411 AIDS
2001: 2,599 alive with 1,108 with HIV only and 1,491 AIDS
2002: 2,746 alive with 1,141 with HIV only and 1,605 AIDS
2003: 2,967 alive with 1,223 with HIV only and 1,744 AIDS
2004: 3,162 alive with 1,311 with HIV only and 1,851 AIDS
2005: 3,374 alive with 1,388 with HIV only and 1,986 AIDS
2006: 3,601 alive with 1,490 with HIV only and 2,111 AIDS
2007: 3,774 alive with 1,611 with HIV only and 2,163 AIDS.

Caution: Changes in these numbers do not reflect incidence, or new cases. Migration and departure, deaths, transition from HIV to AIDS occur throughout these years. Therefore, do not subtract the difference in the numbers of people living with HIV/AIDS year to year to determine the number of new cases.
